RearViewCamPro

Side-mirror-style camera feeds, always visible on your Mac just like side mirrors in your car. See what's behind you without turning around or being distracted by the camera feed.

๐Ÿชž

Dual Side Mirrors

Two compact, always-on-top moveable windows pinned to the top corners of your screen โ€” just like a car's side mirrors.

โŒจ๏ธ

Instant Toggle

Show or hide both mirrors instantly with โ‡งโŒ˜M. Stay focused and glance when you need to.

๐Ÿ”’

Completely Private

No data collection, no network access, no analytics. Video frames are processed in memory and never saved.

๐ŸŽฅ

Live Camera Feed

Real-time video from your Mac's camera, cropped into left and right views. The center is excluded for a true mirror effect.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Sandboxed & Secure

Runs inside the macOS App Sandbox. The only permission requested is camera access โ€” nothing else.

๐ŸŸข

Camera Indicator

A visible camera-on indicator on each window lets you know when the feed is active.

How It Works

  1. Launch RearViewCamPro and grant camera permission when prompted.
  2. Two floating windows appear at the top-left and top-right of your screen.
  3. Each window shows a cropped side of your camera feed in real time.
  4. Press โ‡งโŒ˜M to toggle the mirrors on or off any time.

Requirements

macOS with a built-in or connected camera. Camera permission must be granted in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 19, 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how RearViewCamPro ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our macOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

Information We Access

Camera: The App requires access to your Mac's built-in camera to provide its core functionality: displaying live camera feeds in floating side-mirror-style windows on your screen. This is the only device hardware the App accesses.

Camera access requires your explicit permission through the macOS system permission prompt. You can revoke this permission at any time via System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.

Information We Do NOT Collect

RearViewCamPro does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:

Data Processing

All camera data is processed locally on your device, in real time, and solely for the purpose of rendering the live feed on screen. Video frames are:

  1. Captured from your camera via Apple's AVFoundation framework.
  2. Cropped into left and right sections in memory.
  3. Displayed in floating windows on your screen.
  4. Immediately discarded after display.

No frames are recorded, stored, or transmitted at any point.

App Sandbox

RearViewCamPro runs within the macOS App Sandbox, which limits its access to system resources. The App's only sandbox entitlement beyond the default is camera access.

Children's Privacy

The App does not collect any data from any user, including children under the age of 13. Since no personal information is collected, no special provisions for children's data are necessary.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
